SAND CASTLE deals with the material glass and its main component sand. Formally, the sculptures move between beach toys, microscopic images of sand grains and modern architecture. They embody different aspects of dealing with one of our most valuable primary raw materials. The project looks at scenarios in which sand becomes scarce and expensive. A future in which beach toys may become obsolete artefacts of the past.
